TEA College and Career Readiness School Models

Texas schools can learn more about the College and Career Readiness School Models available to LEAs as well as apply for designation.

ECHS

Early College High Schools provide students the opportunity to combine high school and college courses. Students may earn 60+ credit hours toward a Bachelor's Degree or an Associate's Degree at no cost, while also earning a high school diploma.

T-STEM

Texas Science, Technology, Engineering and Math Academies provide students with a blended T-STEM Early College High School curriculum with an emphasis on science, math, engineering, healthcare, biotechnology and technology. Students have opportunities to engage in work based education, earn post secondary certifications and earn college credit.

P-TECH/ICIA

Pathways in Technology Early College High Schools (P-TECH/ICIA) provide students with a seamless path from high school, to post-secondary education, to employment. In a P-TECH/ICIA Academy, students earn a high school diploma and work credentials, including certifications and licenses, and education credentials, which include educational certificates, diplomas, and degrees. They also engage in work-based education at every grade level, such as internships, apprenticeships, or other forms of job training programs.
